Driving Permit System Integration

Overview
Action College collaborated with the Rwanda National Police to develop and integrate a smart driving permit system tailored for Permit Categories B, C, D, and F. This solution modernized the permit process, integrating learner records, test results, and digital certificates.

Approach
Our ICT department designed a platform that allows for real-time data sharing with the central authority. We also embedded student ID integration and SMS alerts for test dates and results. Training manuals were digitized and made accessible through an e-learning portal.

Challenges
Integrating the system with legacy databases and managing rural connectivity were key challenges. These were solved through hybrid offline-online modules and mobile tech.

Result

85% reduction in manual permit paperwork, a 60% increase in permit test completion rates, and full transparency between Action College and the licensing authority. Students now receive results via SMS instantly after practical exams.
